Google Business Profile

Google Business Profile setup that puts you on the map

The free listing that decides whether you appear in the map results when someone nearby searches. Most businesses set it up halfway and wonder why competitors outrank them.

What you get

  • Profile claimed and verified, or recovered if someone else set it up
  • The most specific primary category, plus secondary categories that fit
  • Every service listed separately, in the words customers actually search
  • Service areas, hours and public holiday hours set correctly
  • Real photos of your work, your team and your vehicle
  • Weekly or fortnightly posts so the profile stays active
  • A review request routine, with your review link saved for WhatsApp
  • Questions and answers filled in before customers have to ask
  • Monthly report on searches, calls, direction requests and website clicks

Google Business Profile

Show up on Google Maps when customers search nearby

When someone searches "plumber near me" or "guesthouse in Kempton Park", Google shows three businesses on a map before a single website appears. Those three spots are decided by your Google Business Profile, and the listing itself is free.

  • Profile claimed, verified and set up in the right category
  • Services, service areas, hours and real photos filled in properly
  • A simple review routine so recent reviews keep coming in
  • Profile and website matched, so Google trusts both
How local SEO works
Why it matters

For some businesses the map matters more than the website

Search “plumber near me” on a phone and count what fills the screen before a single website appears: paid results, then three businesses on a map. For trades and call-out services, that block is where most of the calls come from, and the listing that wins it is free.

Google decides those three on how close you are, how well your listing matches the search, and how established you look. You cannot move your workshop, but the other two are entirely in your hands, and most competitors leave them half done.

What I need from you

  • Access to the profile, or permission to claim it
  • Your real trading hours, including public holidays
  • The suburbs you actually serve
  • Ten photos of real work, straight off your phone
  • A list of every service, in your own words
Common problems

The parts people get wrong

Someone else owns the profile

An old employee or a previous agency set it up and left. Google has a recovery process for this and I run it for you, with proof of ownership.

A duplicate listing is splitting your reviews

Two profiles for one business means neither ranks well. They get merged, and the reviews come back together.

It has gone quiet

No posts, no new photos, unanswered reviews. Google reads that as a business that may have closed. Consistent small updates fix it.

How it works

Claim and verify

If the profile exists but you cannot access it, I run the recovery process with Google. Unverified listings do not rank.

Fill it in completely

Categories, services, areas, hours and photos. A complete profile beats a thin one in almost every local search.

Keep it alive

Posts, replies to reviews and fresh photos. A profile untouched for a year looks abandoned to Google and to customers.

Questions & answers

Is this not the same as SEO?

It overlaps, but the map results and the normal website results are ranked differently. The profile drives the map results, and for trades and service businesses that is often where most calls come from.

Do I need a website as well?

You can start with the profile alone. A website makes the profile stronger, because Google checks that your details match and that the page you link to actually answers the search.

How long before I appear on the map?

Verification takes a few days. Movement in the map results usually starts within four to eight weeks, faster in less competitive suburbs.

Can you get rid of a bad review?

Only Google can remove reviews, and only when they break their rules. What works is replying calmly in public and building a steady flow of recent reviews.

What if my business has no physical shopfront?

That is fine. You set service areas instead of an address, which suits plumbers, electricians, cleaners and anyone who travels to the customer.

Someone else set up my profile and I cannot get in. Can you help?

Yes. Google has a recovery process for exactly this, and I run it with you. It usually takes a few days.

Do I need to give you my Google password?

No. You add me as a manager on the profile, which you can remove at any time.

I have two listings for the same business. Is that a problem?

Yes, it splits your reviews and rankings. They can be merged, and I handle that with Google.

Ready to be the business they find first?

Tell me what you do and where you work. You’ll get a fixed quote and a straight answer about what will actually help.
